They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. Starting from that saying, I am going to ask you a question. What do you get if you take some photos, combine them with some videos, add some nice transitions and effects, and select some music? You get a nice means of using your pictures to tell a story. And the MAGIX-developed Photostory enables you to do precisely that.

There are two Photostory editions to choose from: Photostory Easy and Photostory Deluxe. The minimum system requirements for running either of them are basically the same: 1.83GHz processor or better; at least 512MB of RAM memory; 2GB of free disk space for he Deluxe edition and 1GB for the Easy edition; Windows operating system, anything from Windows XP to Windows 8.

When you launch Photostory, you will be presented with a Welcome prompt that will present the following options: create a new project; load projects (there are some demo projects that you can use); new slideshow as movie template; watch introduction view. Only after you go through the Welcome prompt will you be presented with the application’s interface.

Lots and lots of functionality can be accessed from this interface. Or to put it in other words, Photostory has lots to offer. Here’s a look at its main features: multiple media formats are supported for the import and export; mix the photos/videos you want as you see fit; add a nice soundtrack; there are multiple transitions and effects to choose from; export your project locally, to a device, burn it onto a disc; share your project online; and more.

A wealth of features so you can create a stunning slideshow! That’s what you get from the powerful Photostory Deluxe.

Pros

There are two Photostory editions to choose from. Modern PCS will easily meet the system requirements for running Photostory. There are several demos that you can play with. Lots of useful features are put at your disposal so you can create and show off your work.

Cons

Trial limitations: nag screen, 7-day trial (can be extended to 30 days by registering), all output options are limited to 3 minutes in length. The installer wants to install 3rd party products on your PC.
